97 points Kerin O'Keefe: "Another fragrant offering from the vintage, this radiant red opens with enticing scents of wild herb, new leather, violet and dark spice before seguing into hints of underbrush and truffle. Still young and tightly wound, the full-bodied, linear palate offers red cherry, spiced cranberry, star anise and blood orange before a saline mineral finish. Firm, refined tannins bright acidity provide balance. Drink: 2026–2033. (Nov 2022)"

97 points Luca Gardini: "A project born from Pierluigi’s boldness, which Riccardo is now transforming into a fixed point of Montalcino. Great finesse in this 2018: red plum, hints of chinotto and rhubarb. Brackish tannins to the palate, with fruity-citrusy return. (Oct 2022)"

95 points Susan Hulme (The Wine Independent): "The Talenti estate is situated in the south-western part of the Montalcino DOCG zone near the town of San’Angelo in Colle but they source grapes from both south-west and south-eastern vineyards for this Brunello. The 2018 Talenti Brunello di Montalcino is lightly fragrant with delicate red fruits and lots of appeal and charm on the nose. On the palate is quite round and harmonious and very well balanced. There is nothing hard or bitter or forced about this wine and it has a beautifully lingering, creamy, elegant finish. Drink: 2023-2033. (2/23/23)"

95 points Falstaff: "Brightening medium dense ruby. Shows delicate notes of cinnamon on the nose, then goji berries and fresh cherries. On the palate very precise, juicy cherry fruit, unfolds with hearty, gripping tannins, still seems a bit young, but has the best assets. Alcohol 14.5%. (3/17/23)".

93 points Monica Larner (Wine Advocate): "[$75 list] The Talenti 2018 Brunello di Montalcino (with the black label) is fine and elegant with perfumed notes of dried fruit, blue flower, earth and balsam herb. The balance of the wine is very nice, and you'll appreciate the delicate tannic structure and the lean to medium-bodied texture. Some 25,000 bottles were released. Fruit is selected from across eight hectares of vines on rocky, galestro soils. Drink: 2024-2037. (3/9/23)"

93 points Eric Guido (Vinous): "The 2018 Brunello di Montalcino is darkly alluring with a mix of crushed plums, brown spice, shaved cedar and a dusting of cocoa. Its textures are like pure silk verging on velvet with a suave mix of ripe cherries and currants underscored by saline-minerals, as a burst of citrus adds contrast toward the close. A web of fine tannin lingers through the finale, creating a gentle structural tug, offsetting balsam herbs and hints of mocha, as blue- and purple-toned inner florals slowly fade. There’s simply so much going on here, and as I’ve followed the 2018 over the last few months, it seems to grow in both depth and richness each time I taste it. Well done. Drink: 2025-2031. (Dec 2022)"

93 points James Suckling: "This has aromas of ripe and dried berry fruit, praline, porcini and chili chocolate. Some salted olives, too. I like the interplay of savory and sweet fruit, with sleek tannins, fresh acidity and a medium body rendering this a very balanced and approachable Brunello. Drink or hold. (11/9/22)"
