98 points Neal Martin (Wine Advocate): "The 2009 is one of the greatest wines ever produced from the estate. It has a riveting bouquet of quince, honey, pear and a touch of clarified butter that is beautifully defined, offering scents of yellow flowers with continued aeration. It is a little heavier and more intense than its peers at this stage. The palate is beautifully balanced with perfectly judged acidity and immense purity. The finish offers crisp honey, quince and clementine notes laden with botrytis that is counterpoised by wonderful acidity. It possesses an unerring sense of completeness and composure that is irresistible. Bravo! Drink now-2050. (Feb 2013)"

97 points Peter Moser (Falstaff): "Medium golden yellow with silver hues, subtle brightening on the rim. Refined yellow stone fruit nuances, honey and caramel, fresh orange zest, a bit restrained, still needs time to develop on the nose. On the palate, very powerful, yellow tropical fruit, bright honey, mineral-salty undertones, wood, great length, a refined note of mint on the finish, still miles away from maturity. More patience is needed here in comparison with all the other wines. Definitely wait, expect it to be drinking well in five years. (2/13/20)"

97 points Jeff Leve (The Wine Cellar Insider): "Just starting to show caramel, crème brulee, flowers, pineapple, apricot, honey and butterscotch aromas. On the palate, which is where this beauty really shines, the wine never quits, and that is a good thing because all that honey drenched tropical fruit tastes and feels great. Drink this sweet treat now, or age it for 20 years, it is delicious! (Sep 2019)"

96 points and 'Top 100 Cellar Selections 2013,' Wine Enthusiast: "[$111 list] The new-wood smokiness is an important element of this creamy-textured wine. The richness bares flavors of honey, botrytis, almond and orange peel. Ripe and age worthy, this wine’s opulence is just beginning to show. (Feb 2013)"

96 points Wine Spectator: "This is loaded, with gorgeous papaya, mango, yellow apple and creamed peach flavors carried by salted caramel, toasted coconut and ginger cream notes. Very long on the finish, this just sails on and on. Showing terrific range and depth, this has a long life ahead of it. Best from 2014 through 2035. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. (3/31/12)"

96 points (18/20) La Revue du Vin de France: "The 2009 vintage is the second most important harvest since 2001, with a more noticeable acidity than in 2005. It is a very mineral wine on the nose, deliciously fruity and light on the finish, despite a richness of 160 g/l. (2011)"

19/20 points Michel Bettane/Thierry Dessauve (The World of Fine Wine): "As in the 2008 vintage, this wine is close to perfection, with a heavenly, fruit-filled bouquet. It seems to combine everything that Sauternes and Barsac have to offer in one wine. Will it be equal to the legendary 1899 and 1928? We’ll bet on it! (Issue #28; Jun 2010)"
