In 2017, the Estate has 12% Chardonnay, which adds complexity and nuance, while also pushing some of the Roussanne character into the background. Even so, it is a very pretty wine. 90 points Wine Enthusiast: "[$30 list] A dark shade of yellow in the glass, this bottling offers aromas of orange cream, salted lemons, concentrated melon and a light brush of oak. There is good grip and a decent sizzle to the sip before it settles into fleshy fruit, offering dried peach, sea salt, mango and savory roast chicken flavors. Alcohol 12.8%. (12/31/18)"

Producer notes: "88% Roussanne, 12% Chardonnay. The Red wine drinker’s white! 2017 Roussanne is rich and textured enough to stand up to most proteins from raw or cooked seafood, to turkey, through pork. It has a red wine weight but with a pretty lemon meringue profile. Fleshy textures ride many a layered current through the palate. The wine stays delicate and soft, feathering the mouth with coconut husk and tropical fruit. 1,600 cases produced. Alcohol 12.8%."
