96 points Monica Larner (Wine Advocate): “Released one year later than the other Barbarescos in this portfolio, the Sottimano 2019 Barbaresco Currá brings the intensity up a notch and not just in terms of dark fruit and cassis. The wine's mineral profile is more pronounced and, in careful moderation, so is the oak toast and spice delivery. There are more distinct elements here, all played forward with great intensity, that ultimately reach a place of excellent balance and endurance. Sadly, only 2,000 bottles emerged from this 1.6-hectare vineyard site in Neive. Drink: 2024-2045. (Aug 2023)”

95 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): “The 2019 Barbaresco Currà is a gorgeous, super-classic, austere wine driven by bright acids and veins of supporting tannin that lend exuberance. It's a wine for readers who appreciate Barbarescos of vibrancy and energy. White pepper, orange peel, sweet red fruit, mint and chalk linger. Drink: 2024-2036. (Oct 2023)”

95 points Kerin O’Keefe: “The Sottimano 2019 Currà is loaded with class, pedigree and energy. It’s still youthfully nervous and racy, offering aromas of wild berry, underbrush and eucalyptus that translate into flavors of raspberry, orange peel, white pepper, star anise and a hint of coffee bean. Tightly wound, close-grained tannins provide support. It’s still young and primary so give it ample time to fully develop. Drink: 2029–2044. (May 2023)”

94 points Bruce Sanderson (Wine Spectator): “[$126 list] Well-proportioned, this red shows balance between the elegant profile, firm structure and flavors of cherry, plum, menthol and iron. Reveals a core of ripe fruit that's locked in for now, dallying on the long finish. Best from 2026 through 2045. 250 cases made, 75 cases imported. (12/15/23)”

94 points James Suckling: " Subtle notes of red cherries with ground spices, dried citrus peel and crushed stones. Medium-bodied with velvety texture. Lively and juicy on the palate with compact tannins that are firm but ripe and well integrated into wine. Hints of sour cherry and citrus at the end. Attractive now, but better after 2025. (6/20/23)"
