Aromatically it follows the style of the vintage with a dark, smoky and toasted nose, the fruit here complicated by darker veins of liquorice and soot. There follows a simply gorgeous composition at the start of the palate, poised and seductive, then in the middle it develops a rich weight of fruit and texture, still dark but perfumed with crushed chalk, white peach and honeysuckle. Beneath it all there is fabulous grip, from a bed of unresolved tannins. Yet another fine vintage for Siran here – well done Edouard! The declared alcohol is 14%. (Dec 2021)"
