98 points/'Le Coup de Coeur,' La Revue du Vin de France: "We then migrate to Ambonnay to visit Le Bout du Clos, which reveals itself with gingerbread, rancio, before a dense, creamy palate and a finish of great purity. (2024)"

97+ points Sarah Mayo (The Wine Independent): "An 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay from a single plot in Ambonnay, the Selosse Le Bout du Clos NV is always more than 50% from a perpetual reserve started in 2002 (until the 2015 for this bottling), with the remaining 50% of current vintage wine, which in this cuvée is 2016. The eye takes the first sip gazing at the gorgeous, deep burnished gold to brightly polished copper wine with pinpoint bubbles briefly floating upwards with metronome regularity, until they vanish altogether to reveal rich and expressive oxidized aromas of bruised apple, poached pear, yuzu confit and lemon zest swirling amid lofty lactic notes, warm honeycomb, and hints of caramel. Medium to full-bodied, ample, and richly fruited, the palate lights up with a satiny effervescence of undulating, saline acidity adding buoyant freshness and energy to a very long, harmonious finish with an attractive bitter note. Excellent grape maturity from the vintage gives it a bit more alcohol at 13%. The bottle tasted was disgorged January 2023 and finished with a 0.67 grams per liter dosage. Drink: 2023-2040. (12/7/23)"

97 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The NV Extra-Brut Ambonnay Le Bout du Clos (2015) is the most complete of the four lieu-dit Champagnes I tasted. The blend of 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay works especially well here. Bright and punchy with terrific depth, the Ambonnay has it all. I especially admire its explosive, vertical feel. It is also the most reticent of the wines. That should stand it in good stead over the coming years. Dosage is 0.7 grams per liter. Disgorged: February 17, 2022. Drink: 2025-2035. (Nov 2021)"

97 points Bettane & Desseauve Guide (2025).

96 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "Aromas of buttery pasty, orange oil, pear and sweet spices introduce the NV Extra-Brut Grand Cru Le Bout du Clos, disgorged early this year and based on the 2016 vintage. Medium to full-bodied, pillowy and enveloping, it's suave and seamless, with a generous core of fruit, a pretty pinpoint mousse and a long, saline finish. Drink: 2023-2035. (12/14/23)"
