98 points James Suckling: "Complex, with savory, spicy character, showing tobacco, salted plums, olives, black cherries, cassis and a hint of white pepper on the nose, followed by a refined, savory, balsamic accent. A full-bodied Seña with juicy fruit chiseling into the tight, extremely fine-grained tannins. Long, bright and still elegant from this warm vintage. 53% cabernet sauvignon, 25% malbec, 15% carmenere and 7% petit verdot. A wine with lots of harmony now, but better to drink from 2025. (8/9/22)"

97 points Luis Gutiérrez (Wine Advocate): "The 2020 Seña is a blend of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Malbec, 15% Carmenere and 7% Petit Verdot (a little higher in search of acidity) from grapes harvested early, the second week of March, and fermented mostly in stainless steel and 10% in concrete eggs. It has a moderate 13.5% alcohol and good freshness. It's subtle and layered, not only fruit but with more spice; it has polished tannins and very integrated oak after 22 months in barrique, 78% new, and with 10% of the volume in large Stockinger barrels. The warmer years seem to be nicely managed, so that it's not reflected in the ripeness but is more a matter of texture and quality of the tannins; in the warmer years, like 2017 or this 2019, the wines have a little more grip, but these are definitely finer than those from the 2017 vintage. This wine has intensity and complexity, with no mintiness or herbal notes; it's spicy and juicy, with energy and depth. It has structure, color, stuffing and acidity to develop nicely in bottle. 100,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in February 2022. Drink: 2023-2035. (8/31/22)"

97 points Peter Moser (Falstaff): "Brilliant dark ruby with purple reflections, subtly lighter at the rim. Fine noble oak notes, black fruits of the forest, subtle cassis, delicate savoury aromas, some nougat and tobacco. The wine is inviting, with a multi-faceted young bouquet and ripe plum in the background. Juicy and elegant, ripe sweet cherry, round, supporting tannins, good freshness, mineral and lively with nuances of red fruits on the finish. The wine has a very good length, is already harmonious, and has good ageing potential. (2/10/23)"

97 points Patricio Tapia (Descorchados): "The first version of Seña was made in 1995, when Chilean wine was just venturing into the category of "icon" wines. Today it's a member of Chile's wine royalty, now 100% from its own vineyards on the western side of the Aconcagua Valley, about 40 kilometers from the Pacific Ocean, and all under biodynamic management. This year's blend is 53% cabernet sauvignon, 25% malbec, 15% carmenere, and 7% petit verdot. And despite the warm season, this wine follows the path of recent years with its fresh character and deliciously juicy red fruits. The texture is fine yet dense and full of very sharp tannins. It has just 13.5º alcohol, which is fairly low for the 2020 vintage, which speaks to this idea of fresh, tense, and vertical wines. (Jan 2023)"

96 points Tim Atkin, MW: "(13.5%). Continuing the shift in style and weight that’s been apparent in Seña since 2014 – not easy to maintain in an extreme vintage like 2020 – the latest release is impressively bright and low in alcohol at just 13.5%. The assemblage here marries Cabernet Sauvignon with 25% Malbec, 15% Carmenère and 7% Petit Verdot, aged in 78% new wood and some larger foudres for texture. Floral and refreshing, with stylish rose petal and cinnamon top notes, layers of plum, bramble and redcurrant fruit, a balsamic undertone, stylish oak and the structure and acid backbone to age convincingly in bottle. 2025-35. (2023)"

95 points Lisa Perrotti-Brown (The Wine Independent): "A blend of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Malbec, 15% Carmenere, and 7% Petit Verdot, the 2020 Sena is medium to deep garnet-purple in color. It strolls out with confident scents of creme de cassis, juicy black plums, and cedar chest, followed by suggestions of wild thyme, underbrush, and black olives with a touch of lilacs. The medium-bodied palate is elegantly styled and tightly wound, featuring firm, grainy tannins and a lively backbone to support the bright, crunchy fruit, finishing long and perfumed. Alcohol 13.5%. Drink: 2024-2039. (8/24/22)"

95 points Georgina Hindle (Decanter): "Beautiful fruit expression, clear and well defined, lovely texture, concentrated but smooth and round. This is full of sweet, juicy ripe fruits with a chalky, creamy texture underpinned by lifted acidity. It's bold and clearly powerful with a depth of ripe blackcurrants, black cherries, plums and raspberries alongside notes of freshly-cut flowers, herbs and sweet spices; rosemary, violets and cinnamon. Tannins are fine and well integrated and this feels well worked with finesse. Beautifully expressive - I like the styling here, everything feels very polished and purposeful. 7% Petit Verdot completes the blend. Ageing 22 months in French oak barrels (78% new) and 10% foudres. Drinking Window: 2025-2043. (7/5/22)"

95 points Wine Enthusiast: "[$150 list] Violets, ripe cherry and red-plum aromas are delicate. Light notes of cinnamon and dried herbs fill up the bouquet. This is one of Chile's iconic wines from a warm vintage in Aconcagua Valley that delivers good concentration of fruit on the ripe palate. Blackberry and cherry flavors are followed by light notes of oak spice. It has lively linear acidity and big tannins. It's good to drink now and promise a good future. Drink through 2030. Drink: 13.5%. (Mar 2023)"
