95 points Mosel Fine Wines: "The 2022er Frühlingsplätzchen Riesling GG, as it is referred to on the front label, offers a beautiful attractive and hugely reductive nose of bacon smoke, which quickly gives way to delicate flowery scents, mustard seed, fine spices, lavender, and spearmint. The wine proves superbly focused on the delicately herbal and taut palate. There is a fine touch of creamy presence on the mid-palate, yet the finish has huge length and precision. There is even a touch of sharpness in the alluring and long, smoky finish. What a splendid expression of dry Riesling! 2027-2047. (Sep 2023)"
93-95 points Anne Krebiehl MW (Vinous): "The 2022 Riesling Monzinger Frühlingsplätzchen Grosses Gewächs is from Fröhlich’s only site of Permian rhyolite and has a lovely, savory, only slightly flinty and funky nose. The yeast dissipates and reveals herbal notions of crushed St. John's Wort and ripe Amalfi lemon peel rubbed against salt and fennel seed. The palate is streamlined, taut, sleek, racy and cool. Like a thoroughbred, it is all sinew and muscle, raring to go. A note of petrichor appears on the finish, whistle clean, moreish and thrilling. (Bone-dry) Drink: 2027-2050. (Sep 2023)"
93 points Ulrich Sautter (Falstaff): "Some reductive notes, matchstick, lime zest. On the palate, a bit more suppleness than is usually seen from this winery, but then builds up texture, a juicy acidity, supple again on the finish and aromatically nuanced, floral and savoury. Alcohol 12.5%. Residual sugar: 4 g/l. (11/11/23)"
