Silky, juicy and full-bodied on the palate, this Riesling has ripe fruit, plenty of substance and muscle but is still rather sinewy, salty and reductive. The Stromberg 2023 Riesling GG, as it is referred to on the consumer label, has a quite herbal and reductive nose of almond, hot spices, wild herbs, flint stone, green apple, dill, rosemary, hay, and cassis leaf. The wine proves quite compact and herbal on the palate, where some tartness and tannins directly come through. There is some broadness, yet the finish is straight and taut, with plenty of spices and zesty elements. This impressive and bold expression of dry Riesling needs a few years to integrate all its elements and fully shine. 2028-2038. (Sep 2024)"
