96 points Wine Spectator: "Juicy and packed with cherry, black currant, violet, licorice and spice flavors, riding a wave of vibrant acidity. Tannins lend support, allowing this to cruise to a long aftertaste, courtesy of the driving acidity. Best from 2018 through 2032. 300 cases imported. (10/8/14)"

94 points Monica Larner (Wine Advocate): "The 2010 Barolo Bricco Ambrogio bursts open with an immediate whiff of fresh flowers and crushed roses. Paolo Scavino bought the four-hectare, south-facing vineyard in 2001 the same moment he saw the listing. Crushed mineral tones appear at the back but those delicate fruit and floral tones take center stage. The wine is smooth and silky, although the tannic presence and acidity are very much in play. Drink: 2017-2030. (Jul 2014)"

93 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "[$75 list] Dark red cherries, plums, smoke, mocha, licorice and cloves blossom in the 2010 Barolo Bricco Ambrogio. Plump and juicy to the core, the 2010 boasts gorgeous depth and resonance, all backed up by plenty of minerality and acidity. All the elements are beautifully balanced in the glass. I expect the 2010 will drink well with relatively minimum cellaring. Drink: 2018-2030. (Jan 2014)"

93 points James Suckling: "A potent red with dried-strawberry, floral and spice character. Full body with round, integrated tannins and fresh finish. Better in 2016. (4/14/14)"

93 points Wine Enthusiast: "Delicate aromas of ripe berry, tilled soil, rose petals and white pepper waft out of the glass. The palate is still a bit shy but extremely elegant, revealing bright wild cherry, orange peel and cinnamon perfectly balanced with youthfully bracing tannins and nervous acidity that need time to soften. Drink after 2020. Alcohol 14%. (Oct 2014)"
