93 points Ian D'Agata (Terroir Sense): "Deep red-ruby. The nose hints at nuances of tar, licorice and underbrush complicating red fruit. Starts and finishes ripe and fruity, while it’s more austere in the middle, with flavours similar to the aromas. Closes long and smooth. This is really quite good; well done here! Drinking window: 2024-2032. (Mar 2024)"
92 points Wine Spectator: "An expressive range of ripe and juicy wild strawberry and black cherry preserves is set on the silky palate of this lush red, which shows a fresh delicacy and sense of restraint despite the exuberant fruit. Supple tannins provide graceful support as accents of milled white pepper, tea leaf and orange peel play on the lasting finish. Drink now through 2033. (Oct 2024)"
92 points International Wine Review: "Medium ruby red. Very fresh nose of red and black fruit with earth and herbal notes. Silky on the attack with dark fruit accented by dried herbs and tobacco notes. Clean, pure and a sense of elegance with refined tannins. The grapes are carefully destemmed, delicately extracted and fermented in a 100hl oak tank with limited pumpovers, matured 2 years in 30hl Slavonian oak botti, tonneau and barrique, all used French oak. (Feb 2023)"
91 points Eric Guido (Vinous): "The 2018 Montefalco Sagrantino is rich and darkly floral, blending hints of cinnamon, plum and dusty rose. This is a soft-textured yet zesty effort with mineral-tinged red berry fruits guided by vibrant acidity as hints of cocoa and balsamic spice form toward the close. The 2018 finishes structured with a bitter tinge, allowing some heat to poke through as hints of licorice fade. This is a racy interpretation of the vintage. Drink 2024-2030 (Oct 2023)"
