96 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Based on 46% Grenache Blanc, 30% Roussanne, 20% Chenin Blanc, and 4% Chardonnay, the 2023 James Berry Vineyard White was barrel fermented and aged on lees for 21 months in 66% new 600-liter French and Austrian oak. Ripe citrus, tangerine, honeyed white flowers, white almonds, and beautiful minerality all emerge from this medium to full-bodied white. It has beautiful balance and richness, a bright spine of acidity, and a gorgeous finish. This rich, layered, serious white should have a decade of longevity. Drink 2025-2035. (Aug 2025)"
95 points Matthew Luczy (Wine Advocate): "The 2023 James Berry Vineyard White is a unique and increasingly captivating wine that goes beyond just being an introduction to Saxum's lineup of red wines and highlights the region's potential in producing outstanding white wines overall. Despite its substantial size, this wine is beautifully balanced, blending honeyed and woody aromas with hints of petrol, coffee and white chocolate. The palate is suave, vibrant and refined, concluding with a taut, layered finish that offers a touch of confectionery richness complemented by a lingering saline backbone. A blend of 46% Grenache Blanc, 30% Roussanne, 20% Chenin Blanc and 4% Chardonnay, it matured for 22 months in equal parts new and neutral 600-liter puncheons. Drink 2025-2035 (Oct 2025)"
