>b>92 points Erin Brooks (Wine Advocate): "The 2021 Amour Fou is a unique wine composed of Pinot Noir, Grenache, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and skin-fermented Roussanne. "It is essentially orange wine," proprietor and winemaker Matthias Pippig explains, although "just one of the components is skin fermented." Matured for 19 months in used French oak, it has a medium onion-skin color and arresting aromas of grilled peaches, musk, wasabi, cracked pepper and candle wax with exotic, spicy undertones. The medium-bodied palate has a mouth-coating texture balanced by bright acidity that enlivens its fruit, and it has a long, spicy finish. 125 cases were made. Drink: 2024-203.0 (Jan 2024)"

90 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2021 Rosé is an unusual blend of skin-fermented Roussane and Viognier that spent 18 months in wood. Rich and layered, the 2021 offers tons of intensity in a quirky style that is quite distinctive. Floral and citrus accents lift the bright cranberry and grapefruit flavors. Drink: 2023-2025. (Sep 2023)"

Producer notes: "Varietals Pinot Noir, Grenache, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Skin-fermented Roussanne, Petit Verdot. Vineyards Watch Hill, 2 Wolves, Our Lady of Guadalupe, Happy Canyon. Alcohol 13.8%. Barrels / Coopers Seasoned 300 & 400L French oak and stainless. Barrel Aging 19 months."
