94 points Daniele Cernilli (Doctor Wine): "The ruby color leans slightly towards garnet while the wonderful aroma has a complex personality in which fruity notes intermingle nicely with tones of sweet tobacco and medicinal herbs. The attack of the mouthfeel is elegant and pronounced with compact and balanced tannins that make the flavor very satisfying, while the finish has a lovely persistence and great harmony. (Feb 2016)"

92 points Bruce Sanderson (Wine Spectator): "Cherry and spice flavors highlight this polished red. Shows ample structure for support, though this still needs a year or two to find equilibrium. Delivers a fine grip of tannins and acidity. Best from 20176 through 2028. 600 cases made, 350 cases imported. (6/15/16)"

92 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2011 Brunello di Montalcino Le Lucere emerges from the estate's oldest vines. Here the balance of fruit and tannin is much more successful. Sensual and layered in the glass, the Lucere offers good up-front richness to match its creamy, inviting personality. Generous black cherry, plum, smoke, spice and menthol flesh out on a resonant finish laced with attractive aromatic overtones. In this vintage, the oak and tannins are very nicely balanced, something that hasn't always been the case here. At times, the ripeness of the vintage is a bit dominant, but this is a gorgeous wine from San Filippo. Drink: 2018-2028. (Feb 2016)"

92 points James Suckling: "Black cherry, cedar and dried flowers on the nose follow through to a medium to full body with chewy tannins and a savory finish. Lots of structure. Muscular and wholesome yet there’s a softness and beauty. Better after 2027. (9/11/23)"
