93 points Audrey Frick (JebDunnuck.com): "[$71 list] The 2020 Rosso Di Montalcino is a rich ruby color with a magenta tinge and is highly spiced and aromatic with aromas of crushed cherries, toasted peppercorn, candied violets, and pine sap. The palate is supple, with a silky sheen, and although it’s medium-bodied, it has a luxurious rounded feel and remains ripe with sweet tannins. Expressive through its rather long finish, this impressive Rosso is going to show at its best over the coming 8-10 years. Drink: 2024-2034. (2/28/24)"

92+ points Eric Guido (Vinous): "The 2020 Rosso di Montalcino is youthfully coy, as swirling unlocks mentholated herbs, red currants, wilted violets and wet stone. It soothes with its round and supple textures, smoothing over the palate with ripe red and blue fruits, all guided by juicy acidity. A staining of minerality forms toward the close. The 2020 finishes long yet remarkably fresh with a lavender tinge and framework of tannins that punctuate the experience beautifully. Drink: 2025-2031. (Dec 2023)"

Importer notes: "Podere Salicutti was founded by Francesco Leanza, and then transitioned with the utmost care to Felix and Sabine Eichbauer who carry on the tradition of winemaking with humility, maturity, and conviction. As the first organically certified estate in Montalcino with vines dating back to 1994, Salicutti prides itself on wines that showcase the uninhibited brilliance of its terroir. Tasting Notes: Gentle spice, dense cherry, and red berry aromas from a well balanced vineyard boasting fewer stones and a natural spring running 4 meters below the vineyards. A bit more generous on fruit and still very seriously structured."
