98+ points Jeb Dunnuck: "Lastly, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Savory Estate comes from vines around winemaker Jeff Ames’ house that were planted in 1998 by David Abreu. This beauty has a Bordeaux-like perfume of blackcurrants, new saddle leather, cedar, spring flowers, and dried tobacco. Ripe, sexy, full-bodied, and seamless, it delivers an incredible array of aromas and flavors, a singular personality, and an awesome finish. It’s another brilliant, brilliant wine from this team that will benefit from just short-term cellaring and drink well for 25-30 years. Drink: 2023-2048. (1/31/19)"

94 points James Suckling: "A rich cabernet that is layered and very flavorful. Full and fruit-forward, yet there's a tension and firmness at the end. Juicy. A big wine. Framed and solid. Try in 2020. (5/23/18)"

94 points International Wine Report: "Another fantastic wine from Rudius is the 2015 Savory Estate Cabernet Sauvignon. This Howell Mountain Vineyard as originally planted by Ric Forman back in 1998. The wine itself is a sensational blend of 96% Cabernet, 4% Cabernet Franc (co-ferment) which was aged in 60% New Darnajou barrels for 22 months. It offers gorgeous aromas of crème de cassis and ripe currants which combine with dried tobacco, loam, dusty minerals, dried herbs, and a touch of licorice all coming together in the glass. On the palate this is medium-plus to full-bodied with remarkable overall balance and beautifully polished, velvety tannins. There is a wonderful freshness and underlying minerality which persists through the long finish that lingers effortlessly. This is simply beautiful bottle of Cabernet that will be quite accessible in its youth, however it will also reward those who allow it the time it deserves. Drink: 2020-2036. (Jan 2019)"
