96 points (18/20) La Revue du Vin de France: "...the magnificent Ruchottes-Chambertin... is distinguished by its delicacy of texture and the silkiness of its highly refined flesh.. (2013)"
92-95 points Fine Wine Review: "With the Ruchottes-Chambertin, 25% is raised in new oak. The wine displays a typical stony, floral nose. The mouth is airy but ripe with fruit that is darker thank usual and minerality. The wine is a touch jammy, but not in a negative sense. Perhaps this wine is a slightly less typical expression of terroir than the others, but that detracts but little from its outstanding quality. (Issue #134; 2012)"
93 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(Rousseau indicated that he used 25% new wood in 2010). A broad ranging nose displays notes of very ripe blue berry, floral, cassis, plum and pungent wet stone notes. The ultra-refined, pure and silky medium-bodied flavors possess outstanding delineation and this positively floats across the palate. Despite the beguiling mid-palate, this tightens up considerably on the balanced, powerful and tautly muscular finish that explodes with mouth tannin-buffering sap. This is firmly structured for the long haul and it will need plenty of cellar time before it's completely ready. Drink: 2022+. (Jan 2013) "
93 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2010 Clos des Ruchottes was the most reticent wine in the cellars this year, but with no shortage of complexity on either the nose or palate. The very classy and “cool” nose offers up a lovely mélange of cherries, blood orange, vinesmoke, grilled meats, beautiful soil tones, coffee and a deft touch of new oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and tightly-knit, with a very reserved personality, a fien core of fruit, ripe tannins and a long, complex and tangy finish. This is not as overtly sappy as the Charmes, Mazis or Clos de la Roche this year- is this just the stage the wine is in or is it just a touch less ripe in 2010? In any event, this will take its time to unfold, but should prove to be a lovely, pure and complex wine at its apogee. I may be underrating it a tad, but with the rest of the cellar simply singing in its exuberant purity, this was a bit of an outlier in the Rousseau lineup this year. 2020-2060. (Nov/Dec 2011)"
