93-95 points Neal Martin (Wine Advocate): "The 2013 Mazis-Chambertin, matured in second-fill barrels, has a refined bouquet that is not a million miles away from the Charmes-Chambertin at the moment, but very precise and focused. The palate is very well balanced with tensile tannins and a keen thread of acidity: vibrant and shimmering in the mouth. With plenty of energy on the finish, this is a superb Mazis-Chambertin for the vintage. Drink: 2018-2038. (12/29/14)"

91-94 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from Mazis-Bas) There is just enough reduction present to render the nose difficult to evaluate. There is a sleek mouth feel to the attractively textured, delineated and stony big-bodied flavors that are also shaped by dense but fine tannins on the saline-inflected finish that possesses slightly better depth and length. Good stuff with fine aging potential. Drink: 2025+. (Jan 2015)"

93 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2013 Mazy-Chambertin chez Rousseau is also very elegant and transparent this year. The lovely nose wafts from the glass in a black fruity mélange of cassis, dark berries, espresso, game, Mazy’s medicinal tones, black soil tones and a smoky topnote. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and extremely suave on the attack, with a fine core of fruit, lovely soil inflection, refined tannins, tangy acids and a very long, vibrant and youthful finish. This is so seamless in its balance that it will offer up early accessibility, but it really should be given at least a full decade’s worth of bottle age to start to unleash its secondary layers of complexity and really show its true quality. 2023-2055. (Nov/Dec 2014)"
