The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, well-judged acidity and whilst there is a patina of oak to be assimilated, it feels as if it is singing from the same hymn sheet as the fruit. The palate is extremely smooth and harmonious, almost filigree tannin with wonderful poise on the understated yet paradoxically intense finish that lingers in the mouth, with a tang of orange rind on the aftertaste. This represents an outstanding Lavaux Saint-Jacques that should surpass the 2015—just glorious! Drink: 2020-2038. (12/29/17)"
