94 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2016 Gevrey-Chambertin Lavaux Saint-Jacques 1er Cru has a gorgeous, pure bouquet with perfumed raspberry, cranberry and pomegranate aromas that are beautifully entwined with the oak. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, well-judged acidity and whilst there is a patina of oak to be assimilated, it feels as if it is singing from the same hymn sheet as the fruit. Class, class, class. Tasted blind at the 2016 Burgfest tasting. Drink: 2022-2045. (Oct 2019)"

94 points (17/20) La Revue du Vin de France: "Very pure and detailed in its brambly notes, the Lavaux Saint-Jacques offers great definition. (2019)"

94 points Tim Atkin, MW (2018)

93.5 points CellarTracker.com community score.

92-94 points Neal Martin (Wine Advocate): "The 2016 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Lavaux Saint-Jacques has an extremely pure bouquet with wild strawberry, raspberry preserve and subtle orange blossom aromas that gently unfold in the glass. The palate is extremely smooth and harmonious, almost filigree tannin with wonderful poise on the understated yet paradoxically intense finish that lingers in the mouth, with a tang of orange rind on the aftertaste. This represents an outstanding Lavaux Saint-Jacques that should surpass the 2015—just glorious! Drink: 2020-2038. (12/29/17)"

93 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Fine mid red, with a gentle red fruit nose and a little sweet oak. What you taste on the nose is what you get in the mouth too, restrained, balanced and with good length. A little youthful bitterness which is no bad thing. Tasted: September 2019. (Sep 2019)"
