94-96 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2022 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru offers a mixture of red and black fruit on the nose, with rose petals and light violet scents emerging in time. Very well defined and transparent. The palate is medium-bodied with a silky smooth entry. Perfectly judged acidity, harmonious, caressing towards the sweet, slightly candied finish that lingers for 30 seconds afterward. Quintessential Charmes-Chambertin. Drink: 2027-2050. (Jan 2024)"

94-96 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "A fine generous mid purple, with a much smoother and sensual bouquet, very stylish. Raspberry first then a swathe of strawberry fruit, powerful, generous and much smoother across the finish compared to Cazetiers, for example. (Nov 2023)"

95 points Charles Curtis, MW (Decanter): "The 2022 Rousseau Charmes is silky and forward, with profuse aromas that are more cherry and pomegranate than black fruit, underscored by floral notes and a hint of spice. The texture is surprisingly fresh for the vintage, very silky, and fine. This wine is a blend of younger vines in Aux Charmes and older vines in Mazoyères, for 1.37 hectares in total. The wine is accessible even now and should be among the earliest-drinking wines in this cellar, yet it should also age well. Drinking Window: 2035-2085. (11/2/23)"

95 points Christy Canterbury, MW (TimAtkin.com): "Rather charming indeed, as the name suggests, this opens with smoke, underbrush and soft floral tones. But as this is a combination of Charmes—delivering the pretty aromatics—with Mazoyères, the structural elements of the latter also stand out. Smartly defined yet ripe tannins and spritely acidity deliver lots of peps. (2024)"

95 points Bettane & Desseauve Guide (2025).

91-94 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from a 1.47 ha holding of roughly 25+ year old vines that combines .61 ha in Charmes with .86 ha in Mazoyères; 20% new wood). Pretty, even perfumed, aromas include those of essence of red pinot fruit, anise, earth and the barest hint of wood influence. The beautifully textured, supple and rounded middleweight flavors firm up noticeably on the youthfully austere, balanced and sneaky long finale. This is really quite stylish and should age well. Drink: 2034+. (Jan 2024)"
