98 points La Revue du Vin de France: "More aromatic depth with notes of Burlat cherry, sweet spices, and fur in the bright Clos-de-Beze, full-bodied and caressing, whose fleshy tannins are buried in the vast flesh. (2024)"
97+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2021 Chambertin “Clos de Bèze” from Domaine Rousseau is every bit as brilliant as the Chambertin. The bouquet is every bit as profound and expressive, delivering a constellation of plums, red and black raspberries, dark chocolate, grilled meats, dark soil tones, plenty of smokiness and a lovely foundation of spicy new oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and just a touch more reserved in personality today than the Chambertin, with a stunning core of fruit, great soil signature and grip, ripe, seamless tannins, great focus and a long, balanced and very complex finish. Another stunning bottle in the making. 2036-2100. (Nov/Dec 2022)"
97 points Christy Canterbury, MW (TimAtkin.com): "Focused, serious and dense, this has terrific vinosity and irresistible succulence. There is layer upon layer of fruit, spice and mineral edge that give this wine a patrician earnestness. Black currants, game and crushed slate layer on through the solid finish. This sizzles with energy and will greatly reward a decade or two in the cellar. The Rousseaus have 1.5 hectares here. (2023)"
94-96 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "A delicious vibrant crimson purple with a clean, reduction free, nose. Plenty of energy here. This is more linear and less nuanced than the Chambertin, with a greater concentration of fruit on the palate but less detail. Assured and long, yet ultimately I think the Chambertin shows greater class. Drink from 2029-2038. (Nov 2022)"
94-96 points/'Don't miss!' Allen Meadows (Burghound) "(1.42 ha; 100% new wood where the inside of the barrel had been steam washed first). A slightly more deeply colored hue is in keeping with the somewhat riper, and certainly spicier, aromas of both red and dark currant, exotic tea and more prominent floral nuances, all of which is also trimmed in enough wood to mention. The medium weight plus flavors are almost as powerful as those of the Chambertin if not quite so mineral-driven while displaying equally superb length and complexity on the balanced, graceful and compact finale. While qualitatively quite similar to the Chambertin, as is typically the case, these offer two very different expressions. Drink: 2038+. (Jan 2023)"
