95 points La Revue du Vin de France: "Spicy freshness in the straight, ample flesh of the very persistent morey, whose fleshy, energetic tannins take on a clay-like but refined build. (2022)"
94.8 points CellarTracker.com community score.
92-94 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Glowing fresh purple, and indeed a fresher quality of purple fruit. Tightly knit with a powerful dark fruit behind, a little bit wilder in the finish, always characteristic, with a firm structure and considerable ageing potential. (Nov 2020)"
91-93 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2019 Morey-Saint-Denis Clos de La Bussière 1er Cru, which includes 55% whole bunch, has a transparent and distinctly marine-influenced, oyster-shell tinged bouquet. It is a little more floral than previous vintages – delicate, even. The palate is medium-bodied with a quite saline, lightly spiced entry. Touches of white pepper and clove develop toward the finish of what is a superior Clos de la Bussière to the 2018. Very promising. Drink: 2023-2038. (Dec 2020)"
'Outstanding'/92 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(a 2.59 ha monopole of the domaine). Ripe yet agreeably fresh aromas include those of poached plum, spice, violet and plenty of newly turned earth wisps. There is a lovely sense of underlying tension to the fleshy and rounded medium-bodied flavors that terminate in a firm, mildly rustic and warm finale. This should repay a decade plus of keeping yet be approachable after 6 to 8 years if that's your preference. Drink: 2029+. (Jan 2021)"
