95 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2022 Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru wafts from the glass with aromas of cherries, violets and blackberries. Medium to full-bodied, dense and pure, with a lively core of fruit, plenty of sweet tannin and a long, penetrating finish, it's seamless and complete. Drink: 2030-2050. (Jan 2025)"
92-94 points Jasper Morris MW (Inside Burgundy): "Dense saturated purple. A little barrel toast. Massive and muscular, one of the wines which shows currently more on the dry side, with the fruit a little riper. I found it hard to see all the way through it at the moment. Drink from 2035-2045. Tasted Nov 2023."
93 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from a .12 ha parcel in Mazis Bas). Moderate though not invasive wood sets off the very spicy and clearly ripe aromas of cassis, forest floor, earth and plenty of classic sauvage character. There is both good precision and underlying tension to the refined larger-bodied flavors that exhibit an almost aggressive minerality on the youthfully austere, focused and long finale. This markedly firm effort is definitely going to need extended patience. Drink: 2037+. (Jan 2025)"
Bill Nanson (Burgundy Report): "(1918 vines in the bas section next to the road – similar planting age to their Griotte.) Like the 1ers, compact today in the high tones – but still with impressive depth – and such clarity of fruit in this depth too. Hmm – scale! Really a mouth-filler and with such fresh energy – what a finish! – to chew, to contemplate, to ruminate. You should wait – I will wait for the weekend! Bravo! (1/16/25)"
