92 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2022 Gevrey-Chambertin Clos Prieur Bas shows especially well this year, unwinding in the glass with notes of cherries, raspberries, rose petals and licorice, followed by a medium to full-bodied, lively and mineral palate framed by powdery structuring tannins. Drink: 2027-2042. (Jan 2025)"
90-92 points/'Outstanding/Top value' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "A spicier nose freely reflects cooler notes of red raspberry, wild cherry and pretty floral wisps. The sleeker and relatively fine medium weight flavors exude evident minerality on the lingering finish that is firm, serious and austere yet delivers outstanding length for a villages-level Gevrey. I like the balance and this should be capable of repaying extended keeping if desired. Drink: 2032+. (Jan 2024)"
90-92 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "An even purple throughout. A gentle fragrance between strawberry and raspberry, no more than middle weight on the palate, not over extracted, a little more fruit at the back of the palate rather than earlier. Drink from 2032-2038. Tasted Nov 2023."
Bill Nanson (Burgundy Report): "(The bas is shorthand for villages – the higher part is the 1er cru which itself is under Mazis.) Narrower top notes but with width of earthy notes. I love this shape and flavour in the mouth – growing, vibrating with extra levels of flavour – that’s an undemonstartive first impression but with a depth of flavour that’s more 1er cru level. A great finish. (1/16/25)"
