89-92 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "A dense black purple. There is no doubting the concentration in this cuvée. Quite massive in the middle but the fruit does not dry out. The dark side of the raspberry. Slightly dry tannins to finish? They are still are there on retasting and a touch more volatile than some, though the fruit maintains energy alongside. This is one of the Roty wines which is hard to read as yoiung as this. A cautious rating for now, but will revisit next year. Drink from 2030-2037. Tasted Nov 2023."

91 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2022 Gevrey-Chambertin Champs-Chenys has a tightly wound nose with black cherry, blueberry and floral scents—aromatics that will require time in bottle. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, but quite a sturdy, structured finish as more red fruit joins the fray. This is quite a mercurial wine, one that keeps you engaged, which is always a good sign. Drink: 2027-2038. (Jan 2025)"

91 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2022 Gevrey-Chambertin Champs-Chenys Vieilles Vignes offers up notes of raspberries, cherries and plums, framed by a deft touch of new oak. Medium-bodied, bright and lively, with good depth at the core and a saline finish, it's already nicely integrated. Drink: 2027-2042. (Jan 2025)"

Bill Nanson (Burgundy Report): "(At the foot of Charmes-Chambertin). A more direct, almost linear freshness of dark fruit. Width of flavour – gorgeously wide and silky – really another textural level after the Justice – this has it’s own character – not as loud but beautifully tailored… (1/16/25)"
