90 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2022 Côte de Nuits-Villages La Croix Violette (now derived exclusively from this lieu-dit, without the inclusion of the Que d'Hareng) delivers aromas of cherries, raspberries and violets, followed by a medium to full-bodied, fleshy and refined palate, concluding with a mineral finish. Drink: 2025-2040. (Jan 2025)"
89-91 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "from a parcel of 8.5 ouvrées, or about .36 ha; 2022 is the first vintage. Ripe aromas consist of plum, black raspberry, violet and a hint of sauvage character. The rich, succulent and fleshy middleweight flavors possess very good punch before concluding in a dusty and sappy but not really austere finale that is firm enough to repay up to a decade of keeping. Drink: 2029+. (Jan 2024)"
90 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2022 Côte de Nuits La Croix Violette is a new cuvée from a parcel opposite the château in Brochon in a north-south orientation. The vines are estimated to be around 70 years old, bottled separately for the first time. Note that this will convert to "Fixin" from the 2024 vintage. It has a wonderful bouquet with a mixture of red and black fruit notes with hints of rose petal and violet. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins. It has commendable weight on the mid-palate with a pure, elegant finish that lingers in the mouth. This is very promising. Drink: 2026-2038. (Jan 2025)"
Bill Nanson (Burgundy Report): "(First vintage with Climat on the labels – it will soon be a ‘Fixin’. The vines are old – roughly 70.) A narrower nose of impressive depth and darker red fruit. Scale, framed with tannin this time with a tiny grain – but not drying. The finish is wide and moreish – oh that’s so good – the best finish so far!(1/16/25)"
