91-94 points/'Sweet spot/Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(100% whole clusters). Reduction suppresses the fruit but not the floral aspects. There is a lovely sense of underlying tension to the concentrated, velvety, powerful and palate coating large-scaled flavors that display good minerality that adds a sense of refinement to the austere and immensely persistent finish. This is an unapologetic old school Pommard that is expressly built to age and will require lots of it. In sum, this is a very impressive effort but not for those who are looking for early accessibility. Drink: 2027+. (Apr 2014)"

91-93 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "(100% vendange entier ; Rossignol made only two barrels in 2012, vs. a normal six, as the yield was just 12 hectoliters per hectare): Deep red-ruby. Musky, wild aromas of black fruits, smoke and espresso. Then fat, rich and densely packed, showing wonderfully rich, deep black raspberry fruit with virtually no greenness in spite of the whole-cluster fermentation. This sappy, dense, building wine finishes with terrific length and lift. (Jan/Feb 2014)"

90-92 points Monica Larner (Wine Advocate): "The 2012 Pommard 1er Cru Fremiers is 100% whole cluster fruit and the soil here is similar to the Volnay Chevret. It has a more ebullient, vivacious bouquet than the Chaponnieres with exotic touches of kirsch and creme de cassis interlacing the red and black fruit profile. The palate is sensual and rounded on the entry, although those stems lend this Pommard deceptive structure on the “solid” finish. There is a touch of spice at the tip of the tongue lingering long after the wine has departed. Excellent – but give it several years to show what it can do. (12/29/13)"
