94 points/'Don't miss!/Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from Petits Epenots). A brooding, highly complex and powerfully earthy mélange of red currant, green tea, cassis, plum and dark berries gives way to broad-shouldered, concentrated and extract rich flavors that really coat the palate. There is a supple and round texture to the mouth feel with stunning intensity on the saline, austere and quite finely balanced finish that seems to go on and on. This is clearly built to age and will need plenty of it but the results should more than repay your patience. Drink: 2023+. (Apr 2013)"

92 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "(completely destemmed; from Les Petits Epenots, on the Beaune side of this premier cru): (totally destemmed): Good bright medium red. Aromas of redcurrant, cherry, menthol, licorice and spices. Reserved but energetic on the palate, showing a distinctly imploded character to its juicy, high-pitched flavors of cherry, licorice, stone and flowers. Excellent acidity and firm tannic spine give this wine the structure to age. (Mar/Apr 2014)"
