98 points Tyson Stelzer (The Champagne Guide) (2016-2017).

97 points James Suckling: "From the family collection, disgorged ten years after harvest, slightly lower than original dosage. Shows some malolactic honeyed character (rare in Cristal at 20-25%), a cool late September harvest with a poor set and high millerandage in the vineyard. This shows more dominant chardonnay on the nose with sweet honey and nougat, some dried lime citrus too, it also has an earthy side and some deep spice. The palate has almost cognac-like fruits, toasted brioche and raisin bread flavours, very assertive, concentrated, a liqueur-like Champagne that has a lot of potential and great length. (3/22/12)"

96 points Falstaff: "Medium greenish-yellow, delicate golden glints, fine, lively mousse. Fragrantly fresh pineapple, a hint of mango, hawthorn, white flowers, a little hint of kumquat, nuances of white currants. Taut, white tropical fruit on the palate, bracing acidity, citrus undertones of acacia honey, saline-kissed finish, perfectly matured, youthful verve. Delicate nutty-oily toasty aromas on the finish, very good length, and a very long future ahead. (12/03/20)"

94-96 points Essi Avellan, MW: "(55% Pinot Noir, 45% Chardonnay). Developed golden colour. Rich, ripe nose with buttery tones and toffee sweetness alongside a tart green apple and dried apricot fruitiness. Voluptuous with a fine-tuned, perfectly integrated acidity and rich body. Fleshy yet supple with a rounded mellow character. Elegant but somewhat reserved today with further improvement potential. (Dec 2016)"

95 points Wine & Spirits (Dec 2001).

18.5/20 points Jancis Robinson: "Very tiny bead. Quite big, broad and toasty. Finishes very dry after a substantial, full bodied palate. A pretty massive champagne though with no suggestion of sweetness. Considerable evolution but it still has something to give too. Very 'serious'. (Jun 2012)"
