'Cies' is the name of an island in Rias Baixas, and this bottling of 100% Albarino pays hommage to it. This wine is grown from 30 to 70 year old vines from several different vineyards in the village of Meano. Soils are granitic and sandy. Fermented 50% in stainless steel and 50% in oak, and aged for up to 6 months in large oak foudres to broaden its shoulders and integrate its acidity. No malolactic fermentation. Intense, mineral, vibrant. Delicate and refreshing with flavours of citrus fruits, apples and honeysuckle. Silky texture with a rounded finish. Perfect with oysters, grilled fish, seafood. Only 8000 bottles are produced. Alcohol 12.5%.
