100 points Aldo Fiordelli (Decanter): "The 2019 vintage is the first Brunate fully tended by Carlotta and Marta, following their father, Beppe Rinaldi's death. Typically blended with 15% of the Le Coste MGA for an acid drive, its southern exposure seems to be beneficial in this austere vintage. Fermented in oak vessels with natural yeast and aged for 36 months, the nose is a smorgasbord of details from liquorice and earth to pot pourri and mint leaf. There's a fresh pomegranate and red cherry core, and a finish of rhubarb and orange peel. The elegance of the tannins is great – velvety and dense – with refreshing acidity and polite alcohol. This Brunate has gorgeous balance between grace and power that will keep it going for decades. The best 2019 tasted. It will be officially presented in April. Alcohol 14%. Drinking Window: 2023-2050. (Jan 2023)"

100 points Falstaff: "Bright, shiny ruby garnet with gently brightening rim. On the nose very clear and fragrant, fresh cherries, oranges, reminiscent of wild strawberries, in addition fine light savouriness, lemon thyme, in the echo rich plum. On the palate elegant and precise, tightly woven, perfect balance between acidity, tannin and fruit, flows along as if from a single mold, long, big. Alcohol 14%. (10/6/23)"

99 points Kerin O'Keefe: "Giuseppe Rinaldi’s 2019 Barolo Brunate is drop-dead gorgeous, with ripe raspberry, blood orange, licorice and tobacco framed in firm, refined tannins. Fresh acidity keeps it balanced and lends youthful tension. It’s already utterly delicious but give it time to fully develop. Drink: 2027–2049. (Oct 2022)"

96 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2019 Barolo Brunate soars out of the glass with a dazzling array of dark, balsamic-infused aromas and flavors that are so typical of Brunate. Sage, menthol, melted road tar, lavender and dark plum all build in this rich and deeply textured Brunate. With superb balance, the Brunate is shaping up beautifully. There is an exotic wildness to the 2019 that is hard to fully capture in words. Here, too the tannins are present, but also very refined. Time in the glass releases the breadth of Brunate nicely. Drink: 2029-2059. (Jan 2023)"

96 points James Suckling: "Impressively complex aromas of lavender, lilacs, stone, iodine and dried strawberries follow through to a medium to a full body with juicy tannins and savory spice and dark chocolate undertones. It’s a reserved and beautifully polished 2019. This needs another three or four years to come together but it’s already terrific quality. Try after 2027. (5/9/24)"
