97+ points Monica Larner (Wine Advocate): "The Francesco Rinaldi & Figli 2016 Barolo Riserva Cannubi is a classic beauty with thin, delicate lines that frame a core of profound and very elegant fruit. You can attribute many descriptors to the bouquet, from wild berry, pressed rose, earth, rust, crushed rock and light spice. But no one aroma out-powers the next, and together they work in careful harmony. It's also important to point out the quality of the tannins in this Riserva, which remain elegant and firm. This bottle is a great candidate for long cellar aging. Drink: 2024-2050. (Aug 2022)"

97 points Kerin O'Keefe (Wine Enthusiast): "This drop-dead gorgeous wine opens with enticing aromas of rose petal, small red berry, new leather and pipe tobacco. Delicious and smooth, the elegant palate delivers juicy red cherry, spiced cranberry, licorice and cake spice alongside taut, polished tannins. It's well balanced and vibrant, with bright acidity. Drink 2024–2036. (Sep 2022)"

95 points Falstaff Guide: "Radiant ruby. On the nose there are notes of ripe cranberry, raspberry, plus generous savoury nuances, also limestone and barrel hints. Shows on the palate a lot of polished tannin and radiant fruit, underpinned by fine savouriness, spans a wide arc, harmonious, long finish. (Jul 2022)"

94 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2016 Barolo Riserva Cannubi is a powerful, classically austere wine that is going to need at least a few years to soften. The straight 2016 Cannubi was a wine of pure charm, but I would have a hard time using that descriptor here, at least today. Readers should plan on being very patient. Time in the glass brings out a super-classic profile of macerated cherry, cedar, dried flowers, tobacco, iron and orange peel, but formidable tannins are going to need time to resolve. Drink: 2026-2046. (Oct 2022)"
