92 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2019 Syrah (Sonoma Coast) is a fabulous appellation-level wine. Sweet, perfumed floral notes and bright red berry fruit give the 2019 its lifted, gracious personality. Vibrant saline notes extend the finish. Best of all, the Sonoma Coast Syrah is already quite enjoyable. Drink: 2022-2029. (Jan 2022)"
91 points Audrey Frick (JebDunnuck.com): "The 2019 Syrah Sonoma Coast is savory with black pepper, saddle leather, black plum, and turned soil. The structure is full up front and has a modest finish with lift and fine tannins. Drink now or over the next five years. Drink: 2022-2027. (8/2/22)"
The 2019 growing season proved ideal for this coastal Syrah; cool, moderate and consistent. Hand harvested in mid-October, the fruit is composed of multiple clones, all fermented separately in small open top tanks. Utilizing moderate stem inclusion, gas and gravity flow, this wine was aged in 500L puncheons on lees for 15 months. Differing from the single vineyard bottling, the Sonoma Coast is a marriage of different clones, oak, and stem inclusion in an effort to showcase what this appellation has to offer.
