96 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2014 Valmur from the Raveneau family is much more reserved out of the blocks than the Blanchot, but also a bit deeper at the core and very soil-driven in personality this year. The classic nose wafts from the glass in a blend of apple, pear, very complex limestone soil tones, beeswax, dried flowers and lemon oil in the upper register. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and rock solid at the core, with classic transparency down to its minerality, bright acids and great focus and grip on the very, very long, youthful and racy finish. 2022-2065. (Nov/Dec 2015)"
96 points Stephen Tanzer (Vinous): "Very pale lemon color. The nose conveys the high-pitched aromas of lemon, white pepper, lavender and iodiney oyster-shell minerality that only a dog can hear. Superconcentrated, elegant and weightless on the palate, conveying penetrating flavors of citrus peel, sea salt and liquid stone. Wonderfully energetic but without any corners. A great wine in the making: utterly seamless from start to sappy, palate-staining finish. Really bulletproof fruit here: it's hard to scrape this stuff off the palate. Drink: 2023-2036. (Jul 2016)"
96 points/'Le Coup de Couer,' La Revue du Vin de France: "A lot of precision in this wine of great scope, whose texture and vigor of sap are prolonged by great saline bitters. Its stature and intensity are impressive, and it is only partially open at this stage. (2017)"
96 points Tim Atkin, MW: "Benefitting from its south-east exposure, this is one of the better located parcels in Valmur, although it is still in the shadow of Les Clos. The afternoons can be hot here, but this is not a domineering wine. It prefers to achieve its effects with purity, balance, salinity and the faintest touch of oak sweetness. 2017-27. (2016)"
95 ponts Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from a .75 ha parcel). This is even more infused with classic Chablis elements with its abundance of oyster shell and tidal pool nuances that add breadth to the notable cool and restrained citrus peel and green fruit aromas. The rich, powerful, concentrated and mouth coating broad-shouldered flavors possess real drive but also beautiful detail on the pungently mineral-driven finish that possesses outstanding length and almost painful intensity. This is stunningly good and while I don't think that it will quite match the unbelievable quality of the 2008, it may not miss by much. Drink: 2026+. (Oct 2016)"
