96 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2009 Chablis Grand Cru Valmur is a brilliant wine that's still a mere adolescent as it approaches its tenth birthday, unfurling in the glass with notes of waxy lemon rind, lime zest, wheat toast and iodine, framed by light reduction. On the palate, it's full-bodied, satiny and concentrated, with immense density and controlled power, displaying a deep, tight-knit core and concluding with a long, mineral and beautifully defined finish. This is a fabulous rendition of Raveneau Valmur with its terroir front and center despite the warmth of the vintage. Drink: 2018-2039. (Aug 2018)"

95 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "Valmur, with its southern exposure, is a slightly riper wine in 2009 than the Blanchots, but it does not lose any of its superb signature of soil in the more generous and complex aspects of its beautiful fruit tones. The nose offers up a complex and very pure blend of pears, peaches, lemon, a touch of orange, stony minerality and spring flowers. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very pure and complex on the attack, with a rock solid core of fruit, a fine base of minerality, brisk acids and outstanding focus and grip on the very, very long finish. Today this wine is a tad more fruit-driven than the Blanchots, but there is such great mineral drive on the backend that I have to expect that this wine will lose some of its exuberance of fruit with a few years bottle age and offer up a classic Raveneau Valmur profile. A much more reserved nose of fresh, cool and restrained green fruit, sea breeze and wet stone aromas precedes detailed, minerally and impeccably well-balanced and gorgeously persistent flavors that are Zen-like in their sense of harmony.
