97+ points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "Precision, nuance and translucence - not qualities typically associated with this site - are the signatures in Raveneau's 2012 Chablis Valmur. This is a decidedly understated Valmur built on restraint and a total sense of polish. The silky, resonant finish is utterly beautiful. The Valmur is another of the 2012s here that appears to be holding back much of its personality. I imagine it will offer thrilling drinking over the next two decades. Drink: 2020+. (Aug 2014)"

96 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from a .75 ha parcel). A distinctly ripe yet beautifully airy nose exhibits a broad range of classic Chablis aromas that include floral, green fruit, salt water and iodine scents. The intense, detailed and racy large-scaled flavors brim with an almost pungent minerality on the overtly powerful, driving and hugely long finish that is almost painful in its delivery. This is as big and powerful a wine as the Clos with the same almost painful intensity to the finale. Another 'wow' wine. Drink: 2024+. (Oct 2014)"

96 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "As is customary for this cru, the 2012 Valmur is quite a bit more reserved out of the blocks than the Blanchots, but this too is going to be a legendary example of the vintage in the fullness of time. The stunning nose is a youthful blend of apple, pink grapefruit, tangerine, a great base of minerality, citrus peel, apple blossoms and just a touch of smokiness in the upper register. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very pure and transparent on the attack, with a solid core of fruit, great focus and cut and a very, very long, laser-like and stony finish. Stunning juice. 2020-2050. (Nov/Dec 2013)"

95 points Stephen Tanzer (Vinous): "Bright, pale yellow. Explosive, ripe aromas of grapefruit peel and white flowers, plus a primary whiff of banana that quickly dissipated. Rich, sweet and deep but with terrific cut and delicacy for the vintage, not to mention inner-mouth tension. Really superb subtle flavor intensity here from steady ripening without any extremes of weather (these vines are protected from the hottest sun of the day by their north/south axis). Finishes broad but precise, with sweet floral and citrus notes and a strong element of wet stone. (Jul 2014)"

94+ points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "This wine was tasted blind at the Burgundy 2012 tasting in Beaune. The 2012 Chablis Grand Cru Valmur from Domaine Raveneau has a very candied bouquet with hints of Seville orange marmalade and white fennel, adding intrigue to the mineral-rich, citric fruit. The palate is beautifully balanced with a generous opening - plenty of bright citric fruit with veins of walnut lending it an almost Meursault-like personality. There is good length, and a sense of confidence and ambition about this Chablis Grand Cru that may warrant an even higher score down the line. Drink: 2018-2035. (Oct 2015)"
