93 points/'Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from relatively young vines based in Montmains proper). The equally cool and airy nose is much more floral with ample citrus character on the iodine, tidal pool and algae-suffused aromas that are also trimmed in just enough wood to notice. The medium-bodied flavors are finer if less powerful with a lovely mouth feel that continues onto the intensely saline and mineral-inflected finish that is a really lovely combination of depth, length and finesse. This super saline effort is well worth checking out. Drink: 2022+. (Oct 2016)"
92 points Stephen Tanzer (Vinous): "Very pale, bright yellow. Aromas of white peach, menthol, white pepper and mint. Offers a surprising spicy sweetness and creaminess in the mouth but with powerful acidity and thrust for what is normally a more feminine, pliant premier cru. The citrus and stone flavors still need a few years to harmonize and expand. Drink: 2019-2028. (Jul 2016)"
92 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2014 Montmains from the Raveneau family is also really lovely and showing very well out of the blocks this year. This is far more yellow fruit in personality than the Forêt, offering up a pure and vibrant nose of lemon, grapefruit, wet stone minerality, dried flowers, citrus peel and a touch of upper register smokiness. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and beautifully balanced, with lovely accessibility coupled to fine mineral drive and bright acids. The core is deep and the fruit is pure and complex, with fine structural grip and bounce on the long finish. This is such a strikingly classic expression of the terroir of Montmains. Drink: 2017-2035. (Nov/Dec 2015)"
