96 points La Revue du Vin de France: "Montee de Tonnerre is dominated by iodine, zest and flint notes. Refined, straightforward, slender and sapid, it asserts itself with a sensation more mineral than fruity. (2024)"

95 points Andy Howard, MW (Decanter): "TOP QUALITY PRODUCER As expected with Montée de Tonnerre, there are great reserves of power and energy here. Concentrated, fine and with great purity, oak adds subtle extra dimensions in the background. Lovely acidity and a touch of spice to finish. Great class. Raveneau's Montée de Tonnerre is over 3ha in area, accounting for around 1/3 of the estates holdings. Around 1.8ha are located on the mid-slopes of Chapelot. with 1.2ha at higher altitude in Pied d'Aloup which adds additional freshness and vivacity. Drinking Window: 2025-2032. (10/17/22)"

94+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "Isabelle Raveneau noted that the family is very lucky to have forty percent of their vineyard holdings in the Montée de Tonnerre, and she reflected that it is one of the nicest vineyards to work in during the summer, as there is actually a lovely view from their parcels here. The 2021Montée de Tonnerre from the Raveneau family is going to be a brilliant wine. It offers up a fine nose of pear, tangerine, beeswax, a complex base of chalky minerality, lemon zest, white lilies and just a hint of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full and properly reserved out of the blocks, with a great core, fine mineral drive and cut, zesty acids and lovely balance on the long, complex and focused finish. First class juice. 2027-2065.. (Nov/Dec 2022)"

94 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from several parcels totaling 3 ha with two-thirds of it in Chapelot and the remainder in Pied d'Aloup). There is an interesting minty hint to the wonderfully elegant and overtly floral-suffused aromas of citrus confit, shellfish and green apple. The almost painfully intense middleweight flavors possess strikingly good transparency on the borderline aggressively stony, focused and impressively long finish. I very much like the inherent sophistication as well as the overall sense of balance. In a word, stunning. Drink: 2033+. (Aug 2023)"

92-94 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Pale lemon and lime. Striking elegance to the bouquet, more fruit than flowers but not peachy. Clean fresh orange zest with the acidity, long and complex. Drink from 2026-2032. (Jun 2022)"

93 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2021 Chablis 1er Cru Montée de Tonnerre is also a strong performance in this more challenging year, revealing a classic bouquet of citrus oil, crisp green apple, white flowers, iodine and freshly baked bread, followed by a medium to full-bodied, ample and satiny palate that's impressively deep and layered, with racy but nicely integrated structuring acids. Drink: 2025-2045. (Sep 2023)"

93 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2021 Chablis Montée de Tonnerre 1er Cru, of which half comprises fruit from the Chapelots climat, has a delightful oyster shell-infused bouquet that blossoms in the glass - citrus peel intermixed with orange zest. The palate is very well-balanced, with a little more weight and concentration than the Butteaux. It is taut and linear, with a lick of salinity on the finish. Excellent. Drink: 2025-2048. (Sep 2023)"

93 points Christy Canterbury, MW (TimAtkin.com) (2023).
