92+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2009 Butteaux from the Raveneau family is a beautiful wine that shows a bit more raciness than the ’09 La Minot from Patrick Piuze (sampled on the same day). The deep, complex and very classy nose offers up scents of apple, lemon, grapefruit zest, a lovely smokiness and a very fine base of complex minerality. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and quite open on the attack (in proper 2009 vintage fashion), with a fine core of fruit, lovely cut and mineral drive on the backend and excellent focus and nascent complexity on the long finish. This is a young wine in terms of its aromatic and flavor complexity, but also quite accessible structurally. Fine juice and a lovely result for the vintage. 2013-2030. (Jan/Feb 2013)"

92 points and 'Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(it's always fascinating to see the contrast between these three wines as both Butteaux and Forêts are climats of Montmains; from 40+ year old vines). This is completely different with its intense soil tones, green fruit and oyster shell notes, all of which can also be found on the relatively powerful, intense and stony middle weight flavors that coat the palate with dry extract on the austere lemon-suffused and tension-filled finish. This excellent effort is quite dry in the context of the vintage. Drink: 2015+. (Oct 2011)"

91+ points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "Quite closed on the nose, hinting at menthol and wet stone. Then juicy and tight in the mouth, more taut and incisive than silky today, and showing superb precision for the vintage. Solid mineral grip extends the finish and gives this premier cru excellent tension, but it will need five or six years to unwind." (Jul 2011)

91 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "The 2009 Chablis Butteaux shows yet another dimension of what Chablis can be. Dark, pungent aromas and flavors lead to a generous core of fruit. Some rough edges remain, especially on the finish, but this is, nevertheless, a strong effort. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024." (Aug 2011)
