89 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2023 Chorey-lès-Beaune 'Vieilles Vignes' from Vincent Rapet is raised in thirty percent new oak. The wine offers up a bright and complex bouquet of cherries, pomegranate, woodsmoke, gamebird, a lovely base of soil, a touch of whole clusters and just a dollop of new oak. On the palate the wine is bright, full-bodied and nicely transparent down to its soil, with a good core of red fruit, bouncy acids, fine-grained tannins and a long, nascently complex finish. This is a properly structured young red Burgundy and will need some cellaring time to start to stir. Good juice. 2031-2060. (May/Jun 2025)"

89 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "10% new wood. The whole bunches (one third) really liven up the palate, adding a little fresh strawberry to the cherry notes. Plenty of weight on the palate, no feeling of heat, nor of dilution. Nicely done. (Oct 2024)"

Domaine Rapet's 2023 Chorey-lès-Beaune Vieilles Vignes is astonishingly natural, with flavors of graphite, ink and pepper, firm and fleshy on the palate, and a stunning finish. A delight to drink with its youthful fruitiness.
