93 points James Suckling: "A very reserved LBV with attractive grip and density, and one that's not too sweet. Medium body, a fine tannin texture and a flavorful finish. Drink or hold. This will age nicely. (1/4/17)"

93 points Roy Hersh (For The Love of Port): "Bottled Unfiltered after 4.5 years in 2016; and tasted blind over 3 days. A dense purplish-black ink tone was nearly identical to the optic of the 2011 Noval VP on release. Spicy, lifted and complex scents of potpourri, mocha, blackberry and blueberry fruit. Full-bodied, immensely concentrated fruit extract with an early blast of ripe sweetness which turns dry towards the finish. The structure bodes well for those that like to cellar their LBVs; gobs of glycerin, acid precision and powerful tannins were evident the longer it remained in glass. A stunning young LBV that will reward patience, but the 2011 is ready to drink right now, with a recommended 2-4 hours in a decanter. (11/17/16)"

90 points Wine Spectator: "Features lots of pepper notes to the plum and dark cherry flavors, with graphite accents. Creamy and spicy on the finish, showing hints of milk chocolate. Drink now. 800 cases imported. (11/30/16)"
