95 points Charles Curtis, MW (Decanter): " Produced from very old vines, with two or three percent Chardonnay Muscaté in the blend, giving added complexity. Cask-fermented and aged for 18 months, it has produced a wine that is rich but not heavy, and which definitely has riper aromas than many of the premier crus; almost heading towards tropical aromas, but still balanced. Lovely, lush and very long. Drinking Window: 2021-2034. (Oct 2020)"

92-94 points/'Sweet spot/Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from Dessus). An elegant, airy and very fresh nose is comprised by essence of acacia blossom, pear, apple and anise along with a hint of mineral reduction. There is more volume to the minerally and sophisticated medium-bodied flavors that conclude in a citrus-tinged finale that offers excellent depth and persistence. This is a Charmes of punch and finesse. Drink: 2029+. (Jun 2021)"

92-94 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The latest rendition of one of Colin's longest-standing cuvées is the 2019 Meursault 1er Cru Charmes, a lovely wine that exhibits scents of lemon zest, orange oil, fresh peach, pear, white flowers and buttered toast. Medium to full-bodied, layered and broad-shouldered, it's deep and lively, with fine concentration, chalky structuring extract and a mineral finish. (Jan 2021)"

90-94 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "3 x 350l barrels were made from the Genevrières side of the vineyard, picked on 7th September at 14.3% alcohol. Glowing almost dayglow lemon and lime. A bundle of energy here, very sensual, partly because there is still a final bit of sugar to finish at the moment. Hard to judge accurately yet, so my rating is cautious. (Sep 2020)"

Billl Nanson (Burgundy Report): "(A higher parcel on the Puligny side of the climat, almost touching on Perrières.) This has a higher-toned slightly mineral extra note – interesting, inviting. Vibrant, fresh – superwide, steely but never too overt as there’s a few mm of depth to this texture. Growing over the palate, faintly ginger-spice towards the end. Really tenaciously finishing. I would not be embarrassed to drink this right now – but, of course, you should wait…. (Dec 2020)"
