90-93 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "Good deep ruby-red. Very closed but pure nose hints at black cherry, dark berries, licorice and mint. Dense, lush and sweet, with strong fruit intensified by serious inner-mouth energy. Showing less early personality than the Caillerets or Clos de la Bousse d'Or but this is still quite primary. Finishes with very broad, suave, mouthdusting tannins and a medicinal quality. Very promising for this cuvee, from vines facing northeast. (Jan/Feb 2011)"
92 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(a northeast facing vineyard that rarely gets the same degree of sunlight as the other Volnay 1ers in the portfolio and thus it can often be more Pommard than Volnay in character). A more complex if less elegant nose offers notes of ripe dark berry fruit, warm earth and subtle spice notes that give way to rich and relatively full-bodied flavors that brim with dry extract on the quite firm and powerful finish. This is a classic Clos l'Audignac that should be capable of aging effortlessly for at least ten years. Drink: 2019+. (May 2011)"
92 points Wine Enthusiast: "[$146 list] From vines around the winery of Pousse d'Or, this is ripe and generous, with fine tannins, hints of wood and extract as well as great red cherry acidity. For midterm aging. (Sep 2011)"
A tiny, old-vine, monopole of the domaine that is uniquely more Pommard in style than Volnay.
