95 points James Suckling: "If you like Burgundian pinot noir reds then you should love this very winey and structured rosé champagne, with its zesty blood orange freshness. And, in spite of this it is very refreshing with a complex spicy finish. Good potential. Drink or hold. (7/7/23)"
94 points Yohan Castaing (Wine Advocate): "The 2018 Brut Rosé opens to a superb bouquet revealing scents of plums, red berries, pastry, almond, mandarin orange and lemon oil complemented by classy autolytic notes. On the palate, this remarkable rosé has a tauter and more fine-boned texture than usual, which is enhanced by bright acids and a chalky, saline finish. It requires patience to realize all its potential. Drink: 2023-2045. (11/16/23)"
94 points Wine Enthusiast: "There is still some youth in this Champagne. Its red fruits and balancing acidity and texture are finely poised, the wine showing its good percentage of Pinot Noir in the blend. It is already rich and will gradually move into greater maturity. Drink now for freshness or wait until at least 2026 for maturity. Alcohol 12.5%. (Mar 2024)"
93 points Tyson Stelzer (The Champagne Guide): "(tasted in 2023 in France; 60% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay; 20 premier and grand crus of the Montagne de Reims and Côte des Blancs; same base as Brut Vintage, with 15% pinot noir red wine from Bouzy, Ambonnay and Cumières, purchased by the company 'because we are not good at vinifying red wine ourselves'; 7g/L dosage). Fifteen percent red wine is a generous addition for a house of the delicate elegance of Pol Roger, and the effect is a start transformation of Vintage Brut into the most powerful cuvée of the house. When I'm pouring Pol all night, I always reserve this cuvée for last. The style has slowly evolved into a deeper colour and more vinous and exuberant mood over the past decade, now taking on a medium to full crimson hue. The ripe 2018 season declares itself in a burst of wild strawberry, red liquorice, pomegranate and blood orange, beautifully toned and honed in the Pol Roger style. Super fine-grained tannins provide a mouthfeel akin to pomegranate pith, with subtle bite and creamy texture. It holds confidence and persistence and will appreciate another year in bottle and pink protein food pairings to tone its grip and for the full glories of its fruits to fully emerge. Even in the glass it opens beautifully in time. (Edition VII; 2024)"
93 points Sarah Mayo (The Wine Independent): "Pol Roger’s Brut Rosé 2018 is a 60% Pinot Noir 40% Chardonnay assemblage rose that is full of panache and intensity in every sense. A beautiful deep salmon pink color, it opens with aromas of ripe red berry compote, lemon zest, brioche, and honey-roasted pecan. Medium-bodied and fused with a vibrant freshness, the palate is vinous and juicy owing to the 15% of still red wine used in the assemblage. A very gastronomic style of wine with great freshness and weight, plus a taut tannic note on the finish. The bottle tasted was disgorged March, 2022 and finished with a seven gram per liter dosage. Alcohol 12%. Drink: 2023-2033. (11/8/23)"
93 points Wine Spectator: "[$150 list] The core of black cherry and wild strawberry fruit is ripe and juicy in this harmonious rosé, enmeshed with accents of toasted brioche, red licorice, violet and pickled ginger. Shows fine, raw silk–like texture and a frame of deftly honed acidity, with a minerally underpinning driving the finish. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Disgorged March 2023. Drink now through 2035. 250 cases imported. (9/25/24)"
