97 points/'Highly Recommended,' Wine Spectator: "[$420 list] Like a finely tailored suit, this exhibits impeccable harmony, class and attention to detail. Integrates a firmly structured spine of acidity with flavors of ripe plum, candied lemon peel, lightly toasted hazelnut, brioche and chamomile, caressing the palate with the plush, creamy mousse. Long on the finish, with mineral, graphite and spice hints, this is hard to stop sipping now but should reward those who wait with even greater expression in years to come. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Drink now through 2045. (12/15/25)"
95-97 points Essi Avellan, MW: "This wine was tasted before official release, yet it was already showing the fortes of the 2018 – a year so successful for Pol Roger. It is here that the Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill’s hallmark voluptuous richness and muscular backbone meet in the most harmonious fashion, in absence of any heaviness. In fact, it is a particularly charming and light-weight wine packed with delicious pear and pepper fruit, yet there is an impressive patisserie and toasty quality building up. Great effort for chef de cave Damien Cambres for Pol Roger’s iconic prestige cuvée. (Apr 2025)"
96 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2018 Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill is an elegant, polished wine very much in the gracious, lighter style of the year. Subtle citrus inflections, white peach, flowers, mint and white pepper are all beautifully delineated in the glass. Clean mineral notes infuse the vibrant finish. This is an especially airy Churchill, a Champagne built more on finesse and persistence than size. Drink: 2026-2048. (Apr 2025)"
96 points Audrey Frick (JebDunnuck.com): "The 2018 Champagne Cuvee Sir Winston Churchill Brut is spicy with white pepper, tobacco leaf, and delicate currant, but today the raspberry and citrus shine more brightly. Coming from the Grand Cru, it features chocolate cherries, with hints of cocoa and a frothy mousse, but it needs time to come together. It’s refreshing in its acidity, with a pillowy mousse, and is a pleasing vintage. Drink 2025-2050. (12/15/25)"
96 points Claire Nesbitt (JamesSuckling.com): "This has complex aromas of croissant, acacia flowers, raw walnuts, flint and oyster shells. Very sleek, tight and structured on the palate, showing elegance and chalky minerality underneath. Seamless, classy finish with a deliciously dry, lightly phenolic citrus pith character coming through. Grand cru pinot noir with some chardonnay. Disgorged June 2024. Drink now or hold. (7/15/25)"
95 points Tom Hewson (Decanter): "(90% Pinot Noir, 10% Chardonnay). After the 2015, the 2018 Sir Winston Churchill represents a notable return to form for this cuvée, finding an impressive level of depth and savour in a vintage sometimes marked by lack of intensity. The polish of ripe grand cru Pinot Noir shines through here, with plenty of black plum, blackberry and dark honey aromas, with brown butter and pastry richness lurking. There's certainly some fruit maturity here, and this may be a Sir Winston with a little more early-drinking charm than some, but it's a fine and true rendition of this cuvée's generous spirit. Drinking Window: 2025-2035. (Feb 2025)"
95 points La Revue du Vin de France: "Finally, the 2018 Sir Winston Churchill cuvée beautifully embodies this sunny vintage. The wine may seem broad and vinous today, but it has the balance and structure necessary to stand the test of time without fail. (2026)"
