95 points John Gilman (View from the Cellar): "The 2005 “Liesse d’Harbonville” from Laurence Ployez is the new release of her Tête de Cuvée, just shy of twenty years of age! The wine is crafted in this vintage from a cépages of sixtyfive percent chardonnay and thirty-five percent pinot noir, with all of the vins clairs barrelfermented, aged ten months in cask and not undergoing malolactic. The wine was disgorged in May of 2024 and finished with a low dosage of three grams per liter. As is customary with this superb bottling, it is still quite youthful as it closes in on its twentieth birthday, offering up a superb bouquet of apple, pear, fresh-baked bread, almond, a complex foundation of chalky soil tones, white flowers, incipient smokiness and a discreet framing of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is crisp, full-bodied and beautifully complex, with superb depth of fruit, fine mineral undertow, zesty acids, utterly refined mousse and outstanding length on the vibrant and impeccably balanced finish. This is a great wine that is only going to continue to improve over the coming decade and will probably live fifty years! 2024-2065+. (Oct 2024)"
