98 points Decanter: "(55% Pinot Noir, 45% Chardonnay). Superb! This has a nose of oatmeal, plum , quince and a hit of lanolin; impressive palate weight, good autolytic definition; richly resonant and long. A delight. Alcohol 12.0%. (DWWA 2021)"
94-95 points Essi Avellan, MW: "55% Pinot Noir, 45% Chardonnay. This Piper vintage is a blend of 19 villages, with Pinot Noir coming from the Montagne de Reims, and Chardonnay from both the Côte des Blancs and the Montagne de Reims. Charmingly fruity and inviting nose, with soft vanilla-coated notes of red apple, peach, mirabelle plum and lemon curd, all enveloped in a complex toasty whole. Similarly joyful fireworks of fruit continue on the rich, rounded palate, which is beautifully silky and juicy, with a fine acid line leading to a long, sweetly fruity finish. A seductive vintage ready to impress. Dosage 7g/l. (Aug 2022)"
94 points/'Editors' Choice,' Wine Enthusiast: "[$97/750ml list] A perfectly mature Champagne, this is just ready to drink. Fresh fruits contrast with the mature toastiness. The blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay gives texture plus minerality in harmony. Drink this fine wine now. Alcohol 12%. (Dec 2022)"
94 points Bettane & Desseauve Guide (2023).
93 points Tyson Stelzer (The Champagne Guide): "(tasted in 2021 in France; en magnum; 55% pinot noir, 45% chardonnay; 19 crus, first Verzy for pinot noir, then Ambonnay and Mailly; for chardonnay Villers-Marmery, Trépail, Vaudemange, Côte des Blancs and Montgueux; disgorged late 2020, 7g/L dosage). Magnums are an exciting new adventure for Piper, until now only released in bottles. Émilien presented me with the first ever tasting of Piper Vintage en magnum, as yet unlabelled. Piper has long been one of the best value vintage cuvées on the shelves, reflecting its seasons with accurate appeal. The tenson of 2014 is expressed even more emphatically in magnum than in bottle, and simultaneously more expansive, too. A medium straw hue heralds a profile of crunchy apple and pear, accented with the tang of grapefruit and the flamboyance of almost ripe pineapple, with heightened tension, focus and poise by contrast with the bottle. It's evolving in freeze-frame slow motion, with but glimpses of the roast almond, marzipan, toast and mixed spice more apparent in bottle. Nuances of enticing white pepper and struck flint reduction are more apparent, as is often the way in magnum. Fine chalk mineral structure contrasts with white fruit presence on a finish of medium persistence. True to the mood of 2014, it is more coiled today en magnum and will unravel for a very long time to come. (Edition VII; 2024)"
93 points Wine Spectator: "A seamless Champagne, finely textured and showing a creamy viscosity on the palate. This vibrant version winds a subtle, toasty thread of brioche and roasted almond through flavors of black currant, dried apricot and candied lemon peel. Mouthwatering and lightly chalky on the finish. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Drink now through 2029. (12/15/21)"
92 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2014 Champagne Millésime Brut is 65% Pinot Noir and the rest Chardonnay and is fresh with aromas of yellow plum, pear, honey, and light toast. The palate is fresh and approachable, with starberry and bread dough. Drink 2022-2032. (11/7/22)"
92 points James Suckling: "A bright, silky and vinous Champagne with aromas of dried apricots, walnuts, seashells, preserved lemons, raspberry tart and frangipani. Very fine bubbles here, with succulent citrus and berry fruit. Why wait? Drink now. (8/8/22)"
91+ points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "Much as I wrote last year, the 2014 Brut Vintage opens in the glass with notes of crisp orchard fruit, freshly baked bread, lemon oil and light reduction. Medium to full-bodied, deep and tightly wound, with racy acids and chalky grip, it continues to display a pinpoint mousse and concludes with a long, dry finish. As it unwinds with time in the cellar, it's revealing more potential. Drink: 2022-2034. (Aug 2022)"
