91-93 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Mid lemon yellow, with considerable tension, not seeing the clay richness at first, though it comes out more on the palate and at the back, even with some tannins. Which Thierry likes, as they will keep the wine younger for longer. Drink from 2028-2034. Tasted Nov 2024."

91-93 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "Pillot always seems to achieve good cut and tension in this climat, and his 2023 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Champs Gain is once again very nicely proportioned, opening in the glass with notes of peach, minty pear and white flowers, followed by a medium to full-bodied, taut and chalky palate. (Jan 2025)"

91-93 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2023 Chassagne-Montrachet Champ Gain 1er Cru has a little more phenolics on the nose compared to the Les Masures, with just a hint of peach skin in the background behind the more malic scents. The palate is well balanced with a fresh citric line of acidity, and a dab of sour lemon decorates the finish. Hardcore…in a good way. Drink: 2026-2042. (Jan 2025)"
