97 points International Wine Report: "The 2014 Pichon Lalande is a total beauty, and one of the most impressive wines from the vintage. This outstanding blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc and 6% Petit Verdot slowly opens to striking aromas of ripe blackberries and dark cherries layered with earth, roasted coffee, charcoal, tobacco and spring florals which are absolutely intoxicating. Medium to full-bodied, this impresses with its outstanding balance and finesse, which continues through the long, polished finish. While this will ultimately require at least a few more years of bottle age before it begins to hit it stride, the quality and pedigree of the Château is already quite apparent. A simply brilliant wine, which will thrive in the cellar for many years. Best 2022-2036. (Oct 2017)"
97 points (18.5/20)/'Le Coup de Coeur,' La Revue du Vin de France: "This is one of the cru's great successes, with a wine that is hedonistic, silky and deep. It has an admirable constitution and, above all, great length. (2018)"
96 points Georgina Hindle (Decanter): "Strongly scented on the nose. Smooth and supple, this has bite and tang and grip, a juicy almost sweet centre with lovely aspects of creaminess which give this more texture, weight and body than some. It's still not heavy, but you can feel the layering of this wine, nuanced and coming in waves, really excellently presented, lots of character and lots to like. Also, still feels relatively young, and although you could drink this now, it will age too. Really shines out the glass. Makes you smile. Totally moreish! Drinking Window: 2024-2042. (4/16/24)"

95 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Showing the hallmark elegance and seductiveness of this terrific estate, the 2014 Pichon Longueville Comtesse De Lalande is deeply colored (especially in the vintage) and delivers a heavenly bouquet of crème de cassis, ripe plums, graphite, cedar pencil, roasted coffee, and tons of building minerality and liquid rock-like nuances. Incredibly pure, textured, full-bodied, and with a seamless integration of its fruit, tannin, and acidity, it’s already approachable but will keep for two to three decades. While this estate lies just to the north of Château Latour, most of its vineyards are located west of highway D2, in more gravely soils, at times overlapping into the appellation of Saint-Julien to the south. This estate always produces a regal, yet incredibly seductive style of Pauillac, which I suspect is due in part to the inclusion of a larger percentage of Merlot in the final blend, which can be upwards of 30%. This estate has a brand new, state of the art winery and utilizes optical sorting, fermentation in stainless steel, and aging occurring in roughly 60% new barrels and 40% in once used. Manager Nicolas Glumineau is doing an incredible job at this estate and both the 2014s and 2015s are beautiful wines. Drink: 2020-2045. (11/30/17)"
95 points Jane Anson (Inside Bordeaux): "(65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc, 6% Petit Verdot). Textured rich tannins, plenty of concentration and liqourice-soaked black fruits, plump and juicy, with precision and balance. This was the longest harvest on record because they had brought in true plot-by-plot picking at this point, stretching from September 16 to October 14. 36hl/h yield, 60% new oak. First year in the new cellar when they could really take their time, 3.61ph. Drink: 2022-2035. Alcohol 13.4%. (7/9/21)"
95 points Jeff Leve (The Wine Cellar Insider): "Tobacco leaf, cigar box, currants, and plums are what you find on the nose. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, earthy, and savory with a cedar and tobacco leaf lean to its character. Classic in nature, texture, and nuances, give this just a bit more time in the cellar and it could add more softness. This has clearly improved with time. Drink from 2023-2045. (Jul 2022)"
