94 points Robert Parker: "The 2009 Pinot Noir La Caprice is a 464-case cuvee made from field selections from Vosne-Romanee and grafted onto the low producing and yielding root stock called Riparia Gloire. Its deep ruby color is followed by a layered, rich wine that still reveals some tannin as well as loads of raspberry and black cherry fruit intermixed with hints of spring flowers and forest floor. Yields were less than one ton of fruit per acre. This impressive 2009 can be drunk now or cellared for another 10-15 years. (Dec 2013)"

94 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "The 2009 Pinot Noir Le Caprice PMW Estate is a gorgeous wine graced with expressive aromatics, articulate fruit and lovely overall balance. Raspberries, strawberries, freshly cut roses and spices are woven together beautifully in this super-refined, impeccable wine. Striking, sweet floral notes linger in the empty glass. The clones are Calera and a suitcase clone from Vosne-Romanee. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2021. (Feb 2012)"

94 points Wine Spectator: "Well-structured, with a core of pure, ripe plum and blackberry fruit that's fleshy, supple and medium- to full-bodied. This is deeply concentrated and firms up nicely on the finish, where a touch of fresh earth folds in. Drink now through 2017. 510 cases made. (7/31/11)"

93 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "Bright ruby. Higher in pitch than the Moulin Rouge, displaying wild strawberry and raspberry along with a sexy floral nuance and an exotic note of nectarine. Shows darker berry fruit and cherry in the mouth, picking up notes of licorice and candied flowers with air. Deeply fruity but energetic pinot with excellent finishing clarity and persistent spiciness. (May/Jun 2011)"
